Kimmo Mattila (b.1959) studied music at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Master of Music degree, classical accordion. After the academic studies several executive tasks in musical organisations:
– President of the Finnish Accordion Association, actual number of members (in 2020) ca 3000 individuals and 60 local member associations.
– Editor-in-chief of the fi –magazine published by the Finnish Accordion Association.
– From 2009 until 2012 the vice president of the Finland Festivals network organisation. The CIA has actually 44 members (organisations only) in 40 countries (status 2021).
– Since 2014 member of the regional LAG of the EU Leader Funding program, where a vice president 2019-2020.
– Actual main fulltime job: the Director of the Finnish Accordion Institute for researching, publishing and promoting, located in Ikaalinen since 1986.
Since 2006 The Secretary General of the International Confederation of Accordionists (CIA). The CIA is a member of the International Music Council and the European Music Council EM
– Languages: Finnish (native), Swedish, English, German
