Irena MERDOVIĆ je rođena 1974 godine u Podgorici. Srednje muzičko obrazovanje stekla je u muzičkoj školi Dr. Miloje Milojević u Kragujevcu, u klasi profesora mr. Vojina Vasovića. Diplomirala je na Muzičkoj Akademiji Petar Ilič Čajkovski u Kijevu, Ukraina u klasi profesora Vladimira Besfamiljnova. Kao najbolji student bila je stipendista Ministarstva prosvjete Crne Gore od 1994. do 1999. godine. Magistrirala je na muzičkoj akademiji na Cetinju 2014. godine na odsjeku za Kamernu muziku. Dobitnica je više nagrada i stručnih priznanja: prve nagrade na Republičkom takmičenju u Podgorici 1983. godine i Prve nagrade na Republičkom takmičenju 1984., Lauerat internacionalnog takmičenja u Arandjelovcu (1994); Prve nagrade medjunarodnog takmičenja u Herceg Novom (1993); Prve nagrade Republičkog takmičenja u Beogradu (1993);ucesnik takmicenja u Klingentalu, Prve nagrade Muzičkog festivala na Cetinju (dirigent orkestra). Prva je žena u Crnoj Gori diplomirani profesor klasične harmonike.Član je više kamernih sastava u Crnoj Gori sa kojima nastupa. Premijerno je izvodila Koncertni triptih A.Belošickog u Kijevu (1997). Snimala je numeru za pozorišnu predstavu “ Post Scriptum“ u režiji Varije Djukić. Irena Merdović je profesor harmonike u Muzičkoj školi Vasa Pavić u Podgorici a njeni učenici već godinama osvajaju značajne nagrade na referentnim internecionalnim takmičenjima: Zvezdane Staze (Kragujevac), Accordeon Art (Sarajevo), Kastelfidardo (Italija), Dani Harmonike (Smederevo), Dani harmonike (Ugljevik, Bijeljina),Akordeon fest( Grac )kao i na državnim i medjunarodnim takmičenjima u Crnoj Gori.

Irena MERDOVIĆ was born in 1974 in Podgorica. She gained secondary music education in music school Dr Miloje Milojević in Kragujevac, under professor Vojin Vasović. She gradueted from the Music Academy Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky under professor Vladimir Besfamiljnov. She was a grantee of Ministry of Education of Montenegro from 1994 – 1999 as the best student. She acquired the Master’s degree at the Music Academy in Cetinje in 2014 at the Department of Chamber Music. She has won several awards and professional recognitions: first prize at the Republic competition in Podgorica in 1983, first prize at the republic competition in 1984, laureate of international competition in Arandjelovac (1994); first prize of the international competition in Herceg Novi (1993); first prize of the republic contest in Belgrade (1993); participant in the contest in Klingental, the first prize of the Music Festival in Cetinje (orchestra conductor). She is the first woman in Montenegro who has become a professor of classical accordion. She’s a member of several chamber ensembles in Montenegro and she was the first to perform concert triptych of A. Beloshicky in Kiev (1997). She has recorded a track for the play Postscriptum, directed by Varja Đukić. Irena Merdović is a professor of accordion in Music School Vasa Pavić in Podgorica and her students have been winning major awards for years at reputable international competitions such as: Zvezdane staze (Kragujevac), Accordion Art (Sarajevo), Castelfidardo (Italy), Dani Harmonike (Smederevo), Dani harmonike (Ugljevik, Bijeljina), Accordion fest (Graz) and also on national and international competitions in Montenegro.
