Andreas Nebl (born 1968) represents the accordion instrument through his many years of international solo and chamber music activities as well as his outstanding educational work as director of the accordion classes at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and the Conservatory in Trossingen.
Diverse experiences in the area of harmoniously bound improvisation in folklore and jazz initially shaped his childhood and youth. After studying at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen with Prof. Hugo Noth and at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence with Ivano Battiston and winning 1st prize at the International Chamber Music Competition Val Tidone (Italy), Andreas Nebl shifted his musical focus Concert activity in early music and contemporary music.
Andreas Nebl’s outstanding artistic achievements have since been particularly in the field of chamber music. Numerous CD recordings and concerts at international music festivals such as the “Würzburg Mozart Festival”, the “Rheingau Music Festival”, the “Stuttgart Music Festival” of the “International Bach Academy Stuttgart” or the “Festival for Contemporary Music Bolzano” are evidence of this especially in a duo with clarinetist Frank Nebl. Concert engagements brought him to almost all EU countries, as well as Russia, Japan, Korea, China, USA, Argentina and Colombia. Since 2010 he has also been working with the Japanese artist agency „Musical Artist’s Guild“ and regularly organizes concerts and school projects in Japan together with the Japanese artist Naoko Takeuchi.
Andreas Nebl’s international course activities took him to the Central Conservatory of Music Beijing, the Gnessin Institute Moscow, the Music Academy Lodz, the University of Kaunas, the Conservatorio Trieste, the Conservatory Prague and the Goethe Institute Bogota.
Numerous prizewinners of international competitions emerged from Andreas Nebl’s classes. Students in his youth classes have won many federal prizes at Jugend musiziert. Regular jury activities at national and international competitions round off his remarkable work in the field of the accordion.
Since the winter semester 2019/20 Andreas Nebl has been a lecturer for accordion at the Nuremberg University of Music.
In 2020 his solo CD „20 Sonatas“ by Domenico Scarlatti was released.
